Trivia
- The film's title is a nod to the classic Bollywood song 'Pyar Diwana Hota Hai' from the 1972 movie 'Kati Patang'.
- This was one of the few films where Govinda played a character who pretends to be mute for a large part of the story.
- Director K. Muralimohana Rao was primarily known for his work in Telugu cinema, making this a rare Hindi directorial venture.
- The movie features a cameo appearance by actor Shakti Kapoor in a comedic role, though he is not part of the main cast.
- Despite starring popular actors like Govinda and Rani Mukerji, the film performed poorly at the box office upon release.
- The plot shares a loose similarity with the 1996 Hollywood film 'The Cable Guy', where a character feigns helplessness for connection.
- Music director Nikhil-Vinay, known for hits in the 90s, composed the soundtrack, but the songs did not become major chartbusters.
