Trivia
- The film's title song 'Dil Tera Diwana' was originally composed for the 1995 film 'Coolie No. 1' but was not used.

- Director Lawrence D'Souza and music director Nadeem-Shravan were a frequent team, having collaborated on several hits like 'Deewana' and 'Raja Hindustani'.
- The movie underperformed at the box office, coming after a series of bigger hits for its lead actors in the mid-90s.
- Actress Shilpa Shetty, who played the female lead, was reportedly considered a fresh pairing opposite actor Saif Ali Khan at the time.
- The plot revolves around a family secret, a common melodramatic trope in Hindi cinema of the 1990s.
- Some filming reportedly took place in scenic outdoor locations popular with Bollywood productions of the era, like Ooty.
