Storyline
A corrupt cop recruits a violent young man to help with his illegal schemes. The young man mistreats his mother but falls in love. After his mother dies, he feels her loss deeply, leading to a violent final clash with the cop who recruited him.

- The film was originally titled 'Mithran' after the antagonist, but was later changed to 'Bayam Ariyan' (Fearless).
- Director Pratheesh also wrote the screenplay and dialogue, marking his debut in all three roles.
- The film's climax was shot in a single continuous take, which was rare for Tamil cinema at the time.
- Actress Saranya, who played the mother, was praised for returning to a classic 'mother' role reminiscent of 1980s Tamil films.
- The movie had a very limited theatrical run, with fewer than 50 screens across Tamil Nadu.
