Trivia
- The film's title song 'Deewana Tere Naam Ka' was sung by Kishore Kumar, one of his last major hits before his passing in 1987.
- Actor Mithun Chakraborty was initially considered for a lead role, but the part eventually went to Mithun's frequent co-star, the then-popular action hero Chiranjeevi.
- The movie was part of a wave of South Indian remakes in Hindi cinema, being an official remake of the Telugu film 'Magaadu'.
- Director Deepak Bahry was known for comedies, making this intense action-drama a notable shift in his filmography at the time.
- The climax boat race was filmed on location in rural river settings, avoiding studio sets for a more realistic feel.
- Despite starring major 80s stars like Chiranjeevi and Shatrughan Sinha, the film did not perform well commercially upon release.
- The soundtrack by composer Bappi Lahiri blended his typical disco style with folk-inspired melodies for the village setting.
