Trivia
- The film was directed by Ramanand Sagar, who is much more famous for creating the iconic TV series 'Ramayan' in the late 1980s.
- It was one of the few Hindi films of its time to be set primarily in Britain, focusing on the diaspora experience.
- The movie featured music by R.D. Burman, but its songs did not achieve the same massive popularity as his other 1980s soundtracks.
- Actress Shoma Anand, who played Sonia, was primarily known for supporting roles and character parts, not as a typical romantic lead.
- The film's release coincided with a period when stories about Indians abroad were becoming more common in Bollywood.
- Despite the title 'Romance', the film underperformed at the box office compared to other romantic dramas of the early 1980s.
- The plot involves a mixed-race marriage, a topic that was relatively uncommon in mainstream Hindi cinema at the time.
