Trivia
- The film's title 'Nee Venunda Chellam' translates to 'If You Want, My Dear' in English, a phrase often used in old Tamil love letters.
- Director L. Venkatesan is the son of veteran Tamil lyricist and poet Kannadasan, making this a rare directorial venture from the family.
- Actor Thilakan, who plays the vengeful father, was a highly respected Malayalam actor appearing in a limited number of Tamil films.
- The movie was shot extensively in Pollachi and surrounding rural areas, known for their scenic backdrops in early 2000s Tamil cinema.
- This was one of the few Tamil films starring Telugu actress Gajala, who was popular in the early 2000s for cross-South Indian roles.
- The film's soundtrack was composed by Srikanth Deva, continuing his early career trend of working on romance and drama genres.
- Despite the romantic plot, the story heavily incorporates a revenge subplot, a common blend in mid-2000s Tamil cinema.
