- The film's title 'Vattakhanal' translates to 'Circular Window' in English, hinting at the recurring themes of surveillance and trapped perspectives in the story.
- Director Pithak Pugazhenthi reportedly studied real-life cases of psychological manipulation to shape Kathiravan's method of controlling the orphans.
- The movie features a custom-designed mushroom farm set, built to visually distinguish the fictional drug from real psychedelic varieties.
- A key action sequence was shot over 12 nights at a closed tea estate in Ooty to achieve a specific, misty atmosphere.
- The character Radha, the vengeful widow, is one of the few major female roles in a Tamil thriller primarily driven by male conflict.
- The film's promotional campaign included hidden QR codes in posters that led to fictional news articles about the drug empire.
- Composer Ghibran used a modified version of the traditional instrument 'Nadaswaram' to create an unsettling score for Kathiravan's scenes.
