Trivia

  • The film's title 'Ghatikachalam' is a portmanteau, combining 'Ghatika' (a unit of time) and 'Achalam' (immovable), hinting at a timeless, fixed entity.
  • Director Amar Kamepalli reportedly studied sleep paralysis and hypnagogic hallucinations to craft the film's unsettling auditory and visual scares.
  • The movie's sound design uses infrasound, frequencies below human hearing, to subconsciously create a sense of dread and anxiety in viewers.
  • A key ritual shown in the film is based on a lesser-known 'Yantra Puja' from coastal Andhra folklore, not commonly depicted in mainstream Telugu cinema.
  • The actor playing Kaushik underwent a supervised 48-hour sleep deprivation experiment to authentically portray the character's disoriented mental state.
  • Principal photography was completed in a single, historically reputed 'haunted' mansion in Vizag, with the crew adhering to traditional 'muhurtham' rituals before shooting.
  • The whispering voice of Ghatikachalam was created by digitally layering and reversing the sounds of a traditional 'ghatam' clay pot and human breaths.
