Trivia

  • The film is based on the real-life journey of Mahesh Makwana, a migrant worker who cycled from Gujarat to Bihar during the 2020 lockdown.
  • Director Suhel Banerjee shot the film chronologically along the actual route Mahesh traveled, using many non-professional actors.
  • The bicycle used in the film is the same model Mahesh rode in real life, sourced from a local market for authenticity.
  • Several scenes feature real people Mahesh encountered on his journey, who played themselves in the documentary-drama.
  • The film's soundtrack uses folk songs from Bihar and Gujarat, reflecting the two ends of Mahesh's long journey.
  • It was primarily funded through a crowdfunding campaign and small independent grants, not major studio backing.
  • The seven-day shoot schedule mirrored Mahesh's own seven-day journey, with the crew cycling portions daily for realism.
