Trivia

  • The film's director, Yashasvi Juyal, is a first-time filmmaker who spent over two years living with the Van Gujjar community to document their lives.
  • All the sounds in the film were recorded on location, with no studio audio or composed music added later.
  • The documentary was shot entirely on a single handheld camera to maintain an intimate and unobtrusive perspective.
  • It features real Van Gujjar family members playing themselves, with no professional actors cast.
  • The film premiered at a small international documentary festival before its wider release in India.
  • A key scene shows the unique method the community uses to communicate with their cattle over long distances using specific vocal calls.
  • The editing process took nearly a year because the filmmakers had to translate and subtitle dialogue from the Gujari language into Hindi and English.
