Trivia
- The film's title 'Agapaduvaan' is an old Tamil word meaning 'the one who endures' or 'the patient one', reflecting the protagonist's journey.
- Director Rudreshmaniadiraj chose to shoot in real villages near Thirunelveli to capture the region's stark, atmospheric landscapes authentically.
- Actor Muthukumar, who plays the older Marudhu, spent weeks with local farmers to learn their mannerisms and dialect for the role.
- A key scene involving the fire was filmed using practical effects and minimal CGI to maintain a raw, visceral feel.
- The film's soundtrack subtly incorporates traditional folk instruments like the urumi and tharai to enhance its rural setting.
- This was the first major Tamil film to cast a real-life grandfather and granddaughter pair as extras in several village scenes.
- Despite its 2024 release, the script was originally drafted in 2018 and underwent multiple revisions to refine its nonlinear narrative.
