Trivia

  • The film is a remake of the 2010 Tamil film 'Singam', which also starred Surya in the lead role.
  • Ajay Devgn performed most of his own stunts, including the iconic car-flipping scene, without a body double.
  • The character's signature mustache was inspired by a real-life police officer from Maharashtra.
  • The film's climax was shot at the famous Lokhandwala complex in Mumbai, a common location for action sequences.
  • Kajal Aggarwal, who played the female lead, was also the heroine in the original Tamil version.
  • The movie's success led to two direct sequels: 'Singham Returns' (2014) and 'Simmba' (2018), starting a cop universe.
  • The iconic background score and theme music were composed by Amar Mohile, who also worked on the original Tamil film's score.
