• Radha was already a star when she agreed to do Nenjamellam Neeye (1983). But she insisted on Rangaraj as her co-star — she had seen his work in a small role and told the director he had the right 'sad eyes' for the script. That film became their first hit together.
• On the sets of Manidhanin Marupakkam (1986), Rangaraj would deliberately mess up his lines in the first take just to make Radha laugh. She'd then loosen up, and the real take would have this raw, unguarded energy. The director later said that 'their rhythm came from those fake mistakes.'
• The song sequence 'Oru Naal' from Ninave Oru Sangeetham (1987) was directly referenced by director Mysskin in his 2010 film Nandalala. He said in an interview that the way Radha and Rangaraj moved in that scene — 'like two people who had known each other for lifetimes' — inspired his entire visual language for that film.
• After Ninave Oru Sangeetham wrapped in 1987, Radha and Rangaraj never spoke again. No fight, no fallout — just a quiet drift. Rangaraj later told a close friend that he felt they had 'said everything they needed to say on screen.'
• Rangaraj once said in a 1990 magazine interview: 'Radha didn't act with me. She acted at me. Every scene was a challenge — she made me work for her reaction. That's why our films still feel alive.'
