• Y. Gee. Mahendra was the one who brought Thambi Ramaiah into 'Nerungi Vaa Muthamidathe' (2014). He specifically requested director Parthiban to cast Ramaiah as the comedic sidekick, believing only he could match his own rhythm in those rapid-fire dialogue exchanges.
• In 'Bairavaa' (2017), Thambi Ramaiah and Y. Gee. Mahendra played off each other by alternating who set the pace.
