• Shanthnoo Bhagyaraj personally requested Thambi Ramaiah to play his father in Aayiram Vilakku (2011). Thambi was hesitant — he thought he looked too young for the role. Shanthnoo convinced him by saying the script needed a father who felt like a friend, not an old man.
• In Koditta Idangalai Nirappuga (2017), Thambi Ramaiah deliberately slowed down his dialogue delivery to match Shanthnoo's natural rhythm. Shanthnoo later said that Thambi's patience in scenes made him feel safe enough to try longer, riskier takes.
• During the shoot of Mupparimanam (2017), Thambi Ramaiah would sit with Shanthnoo after pack-up and teach him old Madras slang from the 1980s. Shanthnoo used some of those phrases in the film without telling the director — they stayed in the final cut.
