• Nani was the first actor cast in Naan Ee. Sudeep came on board only after the script was locked. The two never met before the shoot — their first scene together was the climax confrontation.
• On the sets of Eega, Sudeep insisted on doing all his own stunts — including the scene where the fly attacks him. Nani, playing the romantic lead, had to act opposite a green dot for most of his scenes. Sudeep later said Nani's patience with the technical process made him push harder on his own performance.
• Sudeep told a press meet in 2012: 'Nani and I never had a single fight on set. But we also never had a single meal together. That's how professional we were.'
• Because Nani and Sudeep's face-off in Eega became a cult moment, the film's Telugu version Makkhi was later dubbed into Hindi and re-released in 2013 — directly inspiring the trend of pan-India releases for small-budget films.
