• Saawan Kumar Tak cast Rekha in 'Saajan Ki Saheli' (1981) after she had just delivered a massive hit with 'Khoobsurat'. He bet the film's entire budget on her star power — and the film tanked at the box office.
• On the sets of 'Pyaar Ki Jeet' (1987), Rekha would reportedly rewrite her own dialogues in the morning, and Tak would shoot them without changing a word. He trusted her instinct over his own script.
