Partnership facts

• Imman Annachi was a last-minute addition to Kakki Sattai (2015). The comedy track wasn't working in early cuts, so the director called Imman to set and wrote his scenes overnight. Prabhu reportedly stayed back to rehearse with him until 3 AM.
• In Saamy II (2018), Prabhu played the stoic father to Vikram's hero. Imman Annachi played a comic sidekick. Their only shared scene is a funeral — and Imman improvised a line that made Prabhu break character and laugh. The director kept it in the final cut.
• Prabhu and Imman Annachi share the same tailor. Imman once said in an interview that Prabhu gifted him a set of custom shirts after Kakki Sattai wrapped, because Imman's costume didn't fit properly. They've used the same tailor ever since.
• "Prabhu sir doesn't need to act. He just has to stand there and I'll do the running around. That's our deal." — Imman Annachi, during the promotions of Rajaputhiran (2025).
• The success of Saamy II (2018) — despite its low rating — led to a brief revival of the 'senior-junior comedy duo' format in Tamil cinema. At least two other films (Mr. Local, 2019 and Dhanusu Raasi Neyargale, 2019) directly cast older heroes with younger comedians in similar dynamics.
