• They first met on the set of Meen Kuzhambum Mann Paanaiyum (2016) because the director, R. K. Selvamani, deliberately paired two actors who had never shared screen space before — he wanted fresh energy between the father and son characters.
• In 7 Naatkal (2017), Prabhu played the emotional anchor while M. S. Bhaskar handled all the comic relief — but Bhaskar actually improvised most of his lines on the spot, and Prabhu would adjust his reactions in real time to match the rhythm. The director let them run entire scenes without cuts.
• Utharavu Maharaja (2018) was a surprise hit largely because of their father-son dynamic — it directly inspired two more small-budget family dramas in 2019 that tried to replicate their easygoing bickering style. Neither of those films worked.
• During the shoot of Meen Kuzhambum Mann Paanaiyum, Prabhu would drive Bhaskar home every night because Bhaskar didn't own a car then. They'd stop at the same tea stall near Kodambakkam and talk about old Tamil cinema for an hour before parting.
• M. S. Bhaskar once said in an interview: 'Prabhu sir has this habit of pulling my leg between takes. He'd say, "Bhaskar, you look like my grandfather in that wig." That's how we stayed loose. No ego, just fun.'
