• Samuthirakani was already a respected character actor in Tamil when Allari Naresh specifically requested him for 'Shambo Shiva Shambo' (2010). Naresh had seen his work and pushed the producers to cast him, even though the role was originally written for a Telugu actor.
• In 'Poraali' (2011), Samuthirakani played the intense, morally rigid antagonist while Allari Naresh played the comic relief. Naresh deliberately underplayed his comedy in their scenes together, letting Samuthirakani's silence do the heavy lifting — a trick he learned from watching him on set.
• During the shoot of 'Sangharshana' (2011), the two actors shared a room for three weeks in a small town near Rajahmundry. They spent nights rewriting each other's dialogue in Telugu and Tamil, blending their native tongues into a hybrid slang that confused the crew but made the scenes feel real.
• The success of their pairing in 'Poraali' (2011) directly led to Allari Naresh casting Samuthirakani again in 'Sangharshana' later that same year.
