• Bipasha and Katrina first shared screen in 'Humko Deewana Kar Gaye' (2006) because the producers wanted a fresh pairing to challenge the Akshay Kumar–Priyanka Chopra juggernaut. They literally pitched it as 'two new faces opposite Akshay' — and it worked enough to get them a second film.
• In 'Race' (2008), Bipasha played the femme fatale who sets the plot in motion, while Katrina played the innocent love interest. Director Abbas-Mustan deliberately cast them against type — Bipasha's intensity made Katrina's softness pop, and vice versa.
