• Sukanya was the one who pushed for Manorama to play her mother in 'Thanga Kalasam' (1988). The producers wanted a younger actress for the role, but Sukanya insisted that only Manorama could bring the emotional weight the script needed.
• In 'Seeman' (1994), Manorama deliberately slowed down her dialogue delivery during their confrontation scene. She told Sukanya on set that she wanted to force her to react with her eyes instead of rushing through lines — and that scene became the one critics praised most.
• On the sets of 'Indian' (1996), Manorama would bring homemade snacks for Sukanya every single day. Sukanya later said in an interview that Manorama treated her like a daughter off-screen, even teaching her how to handle difficult co-stars.
