• Nassar and Sathyasiva first teamed up for Savaale Samaali (2015) because the director needed a veteran actor who could play both comedy and menace in the same scene. Nassar agreed only after Sathyasiva showed him a 10-minute silent sequence he'd storyboarded — no dialogue, just facial ticks and a broken clock.
• On the set of Madai Thiranthu (2017), Sathyasiva would deliberately not call 'cut' during Nassar's monologues. Nassar would then keep improvising, once stretching a single scene into 14 minutes of unbroken performance. That raw footage became the film's most talked-about stretch.
• Their 2017 film 1945 was the first Tamil movie to use a single continuous take for an entire 12-minute climax sequence. No other director-actor pair in Tamil cinema had attempted that before. Later, a 2020 web series openly credited this film's technique as its inspiration.
• During the making of 1945 (2022), Nassar would arrive on set two hours before his call time just to sit with Sathyasiva and discuss old Tamil films. They never rehearsed — they just talked about movies they loved, then walked onto the set and shot cold.
• Nassar once said about Sathyasiva: 'He doesn't direct actors. He creates a space where you forget the camera exists. That's why I did four films with him — I never felt like I was working.'
