• Gouthami was a huge star in the South when she signed Pyar Hua Chori Chori (1992). Mithun was already a Bollywood legend. The pairing was a deliberate attempt to bring her crossover appeal to Hindi audiences — but the film tanked so badly that neither of them tried a proper romantic pairing again.
• In Aadmi (1993), Mithun played a violent, brooding character while Gouthami played his love interest. The film's only memorable scene between them is a confrontation where she slaps him — reportedly, Mithun insisted she actually hit him hard to make it look real. She did. He didn't flinch.
• Veer (1995) was the last time they worked together. The film was a box-office disaster, but it directly led to Mithun producing a string of low-budget action films with lesser-known heroines — effectively ending his phase of casting established South Indian stars.
• Despite making three films in four years, Gouthami and Mithun never developed a close off-screen bond. In interviews, Gouthami later said Mithun was 'professional but distant' — they'd exchange pleasantries on set, then go to their separate vanities. No phone calls, no dinners.
• Gouthami once told a Telugu magazine: 'Mithun da is a very intense person. On the sets of Pyar Hua Chori Chori, he would rehearse his lines alone in a corner. I don't think he ever saw me as a co-star — just a prop in his scene.'
