• Marimuthu didn't just act in Enakku Vaitha Adimaigal (2017) — he also wrote the film. He essentially cast himself opposite Jai, then handed Jai one of his most layered roles as a man with dissociative identity disorder.
• On Yenni Thuniga (2022), Marimuthu pushed Jai to drop his usual mass-hero swagger and play a raw, vulnerable village tough guy. Jai later said Marimuthu's own performance as the antagonist forced him to raise his game in every scene.
• Theera Kaadhal (2023) was the first time Jai headlined a film that crossed ₹35 crores at the box office. Marimuthu, as co-star and writer, was the one who convinced the producers to back a mature love story instead of a commercial potboiler.
• Marimuthu and Jai have a standing rule: no ego on set. During Yenni Thuniga, Marimuthu would rewrite Jai's dialogues on the spot if they didn't feel natural, and Jai never once complained — he trusted Marimuthu's writer instincts completely.
