• Priya Anand was the one who suggested Shiva for Vanakkam Chennai. The director Kiruthiga Udhayanidhi was unsure about casting him, but Priya insisted he was perfect for the role. That film became Shiva's breakout.
• In Sumo (2020), Shiva did most of the heavy lifting in the comedy scenes while Priya anchored the emotional beats. She told an interviewer that he would improvise three different punchlines for every take, and she'd pick the one that made her laugh the hardest — that became the final cut.
• Their third film together, Kasethan Kadavulada (2023), was a remake of a 1972 classic. The original had zero female leads — Priya's role was entirely new. She and Shiva essentially co-created a modern template for that character, which later got referenced in multiple memes during the film's OTT release.
• Between Vanakkam Chennai (2013) and Sumo (2020), they didn't speak for nearly five years. No fight — just drifted apart.
