• Vinu Chakravarthy didn't just act in 'Enna Petha Rasa' (1989) — he also wrote the story. He specifically wrote the female lead role for Rupini after being impressed by her work in Telugu. He told a magazine later that he 'saw a raw energy in her that needed the right Tamil script.'
• On the sets of 'Salem Vishnu' (1990), Rupini would often improvise her lines in village slang. Vinu Chakravarthy, playing a stern father figure, would then rewrite his own dialogues on the spot to match her rhythm. The director let them do it because the scenes felt more real.
• During the shoot of 'Vetri Karangal' (1991), Rupini's mother would cook home food and bring extra portions for Vinu Chakravarthy. He was diabetic and often skipped meals on set. She made sure he ate. He called her 'amma' after that.
