• Manobala didn't just cast Simran in Seval (2008) — he wrote the role of the village belle specifically for her after watching her in Kannathil Muthamittal. She said yes without reading the full script.
• On the sets of Seemaraja (2018), Manobala would deliberately mess up his lines in the first take to make Simran laugh — and then use that spontaneous giggle in the final cut. She called it 'his secret weapon'.
• Simran was the one who pushed Manobala to direct Andhagan (2024) after a 6-year gap. She told him, 'If you don't direct me again, I'll stop acting.' He wrote the script in 3 weeks.
