• T. Rajendar cast Srinivasan in 'Arya Surya' (2013) after seeing his deadpan comedy in a stage play. Rajendar later admitted he had no idea Srinivasan was already a popular TV face — he just liked how the guy delivered lines without blinking.
• On the sets of 'Goli Soda' (2014), Srinivasan would deliberately flub his lines to make Rajendar lose his cool. Rajendar would then improvise a wilder, louder version of the scene. The crew called it 'the volcano and the ice cube' — Rajendar erupting, Srinivasan absorbing.
• The success of 'Goli Soda' (2014) directly led to director Vijay Milton casting the same child actors in his next film. That film — 'Goli Soda 2' (2018) — exists only because Rajendar and Srinivasan proved a kids' street drama could work at the box office.
• During 'Kavan' (2017), Rajendar and Srinivasan had a falling out over a scene where Srinivasan refused to slap a child actor. Rajendar walked off set for two days. They patched up only after the producer locked them in a hotel room overnight. They haven't worked together since.
• Srinivasan once said in a 2018 interview: 'Rajendar sir doesn't direct actors — he challenges them. Every day on 'Arya Surya' felt like a street fight. I loved it.'
