• Lakshmi Manchu didn't just act in Chandamama Kathalu — she produced it. She handpicked Praveen Sattaru to direct one of the anthology segments after being blown away by his short film. That segment became the film's most talked-about piece.
• On Guntur Talkies, Praveen Sattaru wrote the role of the loud, chaotic mother specifically for Lakshmi. She took that script and added her own physical comedy — the way she slaps her son in the climax was her improvisation. Sattaru kept it in the final cut.
• Imsai Arasi was originally a Tamil play. Lakshmi Manchu brought it to Sattaru, and together they adapted it into a Telugu film. That film then got dubbed and released in Tamil — and the Tamil version became a sleeper hit, with the 'mother-in-law vs daughter-in-law' dialogues still memed in Chennai.
• Lakshmi and Sattaru have a running joke: every time they finish a film, she tells him 'next one should be a proper commercial potboiler.' He keeps making offbeat films. She keeps producing them anyway. Three films in, she still hasn't got her potboiler.
• Praveen Sattaru once said: 'Lakshmi is the only actor who can make me rewrite a scene on set because she'll do something unexpected and I'll go — wait, that's better than what I wrote.' He said this during the Guntur Talkies audio launch.
