• Murugesh was a first-time director when he cast Pasanga Kishore in Goli Soda (2014). Kishore was already known as a child actor, but Murugesh took a risk by giving him a gritty, street-smart role — completely opposite to Kishore's innocent image.
• On the sets of Vajram (2015), Murugesh let Kishore improvise most of his dialogue. Kishore's natural comic timing saved several scenes that were written as serious — the director later said Kishore 'made the film watchable'.
• The success of Sagaa (2019) — their only hit together — directly led to Murugesh being signed for a bigger-budget film with a major star. Kishore's performance in that film also got him noticed by directors outside the small-budget circuit.
• After Sagaa released, Murugesh and Kishore stopped talking for nearly two years. Neither has publicly said why, but Kishore skipped the film's audio launch and they haven't worked together since.
• Murugesh once told a behind-the-scenes interviewer: 'Kishore doesn't act — he just becomes the character. I had to stop giving him notes because he'd overthink it.'
