• Tabu was already a known name when she signed 'Tu Chor Main Sipahi' (1996), but Guddu Dhanoa was a debutant director. She took a chance on him because the script had a fun, madcap energy — and that film became his first hit.
• In 'Hawa' (2003), Tabu played a woman haunted by a ghost. Guddu Dhanoa deliberately kept her isolated on set — no chit-chat between takes — to keep her in that terrified headspace. She later said it was the most draining shoot of her career.
• Guddu Dhanoa and Tabu never hung out socially. He was a quiet, no-nonsense director; she was famously private. Their entire relationship was strictly professional — they'd discuss the scene, shoot it, and go their separate ways. No dinners, no phone calls.
• 'Jaal: The Trap' (2003) was supposed to be a comeback for Guddu Dhanoa after a gap. But the film bombed so hard that it effectively ended his directorial career in Hindi cinema. Tabu never worked with him again after that.
• Tabu once said about Guddu Dhanoa: 'He doesn't talk much. But he knows exactly what he wants. You just have to trust him.' She said this in a 2003 interview promoting 'Hawa'.
