Partnership facts

• Naresh was already a star when he signed Chandamama Kathalu (2014), but he took a risk on Praveen Sattaru — a director who had only made one indie film before. Naresh later said he agreed because Sattaru's script had 'no hero elevation scenes' and that scared him into saying yes.
• On the sets of Guntur Talkies (2016), Praveen Sattaru would deliberately not give Naresh his full dialogue sheet before a take. He wanted Naresh to react in the moment, not perform. Naresh called it 'acting without a net' — and it gave the film its raw, documentary-like feel.
• Imsai Arasi (2020) was the first Telugu film to get a direct Tamil remake deal within a year of release. The remake, titled Imsai Arasi 2.0 (2021), was produced by the same team — and it exists only because Naresh and Sattaru proved the original's quirky tone could travel across languages.
• Naresh and Sattaru never had a formal contract for any of their three films. They shook hands on each project. Sattaru once joked in an interview that Naresh's word was 'more binding than a stamp paper' — and Naresh never missed a single shoot day across all three films.
