• Director R. Sundarrajan cast Vadivukkarasi and Manorama together for the first time in 'En Kitta Mothathey' (1990) because he wanted two powerhouse comediennes who could trade insults like a real street fight. He told them to improvise the dialogue — and they ended up writing half the script's best lines on set.
• In 'Periya Gounder Ponnu' (1992), Manorama would deliberately flub a line to make Vadivukkarasi break character. Vadivukkarasi never broke — she'd just stare back stone-faced until Manorama cracked first. The crew called it their 'silent duel'.
• During the shoot of 'Seeman' (1994), Manorama would bring homemade kozhukattai for Vadivukkarasi every single day. Vadivukkarasi later said Manorama never let her eat alone on set — even if the scene called for them to be at each other's throats.
• Vadivukkarasi once said in an interview: 'Manorama akka would whisper the next insult in my ear right before the camera rolled. She wanted me to react fresh, not rehearse. That's why our fights looked real — they were half real.'
• The success of their comic pairing in 'En Kitta Mothathey' directly inspired director K. S. Ravikumar to cast two older women as comic rivals in 'Nattamai' (1994) — a trend that later became a staple in 90s Tamil village comedies.
