• Bajpai was the first actor cast in 'Special 26'. He then personally recommended Akshay for the lead role of CBI officer Ajay Singh — a move that convinced director Neeraj Pandey to go with Akshay over other bigger stars.
• On the set of 'Special 26', Bajpai and Akshay would rehearse their interrogation scene for hours without dialogue — just staring at each other. The final take used their actual silence, not the scripted lines. That tension became the scene's signature.
