• They first shared screen space in 'Kali Ghata' (1980), but neither was the original lead. The film was initially meant to star Amitabh Bachchan and Rekha. When Bachchan dropped out, the producers scrambled and paired Danny and Shashi together for the first time — a last-minute fix that became their only watchable film as a duo.
• In 'Aandhi-Toofan' (1985), Shashi played the righteous hero while Danny played the villain. Their only real scene together is a hand-to-hand fight in a rain-soaked warehouse. Danny later admitted he had to slow down his punches because Shashi kept flinching — they had zero rehearsal time and the director just yelled 'action'.
• Their third and final film together, 'Faisla Main Karungi' (1995), was a courtroom drama where Danny played the prosecutor and Shashi played the defense lawyer. This was the only Hindi film where both actors played lawyers on opposite sides — and it flopped so badly that neither ever agreed to a courtroom film again.
• Despite making three films together, Danny and Shashi never shared a meal off-set. Danny was a strict vegetarian and Shashi was a heavy non-vegetarian who drank during shoots. Danny once told a journalist: 'We were polite, but we had nothing to talk about after the director said cut.'
• Danny said about Shashi in a 2018 interview: 'He was a gentleman. But we never became friends. Our films together were accidents, not choices.'
