• Akshay was a virtual unknown when he signed Amanaat (1994). Sanjay Dutt was already a star. The director, Rajiv Mehra, paired them specifically because he wanted a fresh face opposite Dutt's established energy — and Akshay's audition was a single, intense scene that made Dutt nod on the spot.
• On the sets of Blue (2009), Akshay did all his own underwater stunts — no doubles. Sanjay, who had a fear of deep water, watched from the boat and later admitted that Akshay's calm underwater gave him the guts to do at least one underwater shot himself. That shot made the final cut.
