• Senthil was a popular comedian when he decided to turn producer. He handpicked K. Selva Bharathy — a debutant director — for Ninaithen Vandhai (1998). The gamble backfired hard: the film scored 1/10 and nearly ended both their careers before they started.
• On Hello (1999), Selva Bharathy wrote the comedy scenes specifically around Senthil's timing — long pauses followed by a sudden punchline. Senthil, in turn, slowed down his usual slapstick speed to match the director's deadpan tone. The result? A 4/10 — their best-rated film together.
• After Vivaramana Aalu (2002) tanked, Senthil and Selva Bharathy never spoke again. Not a single phone call. Senthil later told a magazine that the director 'stopped answering my calls after the release.' The pair never made another film together.
