• Manorama was the one who pushed R. Sundarrajan to cast her in Saranalayam (1983). She saw the script and told him point-blank: 'If you don't take me, you'll regret it.' He gave in.
• On the sets of En Jeevan Paduthu (1988), Sundarrajan would deliberately mess up his lines to make Manorama laugh. She'd then improvise a comeback that became the final take. That's why their banter feels so natural.
• After every film wrap, Manorama would cook Sundarrajan his favourite kozhukattai at her home. He said it was the only way she'd let him pay her less than her usual fee.
• Manorama once told a magazine: 'Sundarrajan is the only hero who let me steal scenes without getting angry. He knew I'd give him a better reaction in return.'
• Their 1990 film En Kitta Mothathey directly inspired the loud, comedic 'wife vs husband' courtroom scene in the 2005 hit Chandramukhi. The director admitted he rewatched their film for the timing.
