Trivia
- This was Dev Anand's first film as a director after a gap of 13 years, his previous directorial venture being 'Lootmaar' in 1980.
- The film's climax was shot in the famous jewelry district of Zaveri Bazaar in Mumbai, adding to its authentic setting.
- Actor Rishi Kapoor made a special appearance in a song sequence, which was a promotional highlight for the movie.
- Despite its action-thriller plot, the film includes a subplot and songs focusing on social issues like corruption and injustice.
- The movie's soundtrack, composed by Bappi Lahiri, featured a mix of disco-style numbers and dramatic background scores.
- It was one of the few films where Dev Anand collaborated with actress Meenakshi Sheshadri, who played a key supporting role.
- The film's title was considered unconventional for its time, as it directly used the English word 'Gangster' in the Hindi context.
