→Trivia
- The film is based on the real-life Shabnam Mausi, who in 1998 became India's first transgender person elected to a state legislative assembly.
- Ashutosh Rana, known for playing villains, took on this challenging role to break his own typecast image.
- Director Yogesh Bharadwaj chose to make the film after reading about Shabnam Mausi's life in a newspaper article.
- The movie faced difficulties in finding widespread theatrical release due to its sensitive subject matter.
- It features a cameo appearance by the real Shabnam Mausi in a small role during a public gathering scene.
- The soundtrack includes a song performed by Alka Yagnik, which was not typical for films centered on transgender themes at the time.
- Despite its inspiring story, the film did not perform well commercially and remains relatively obscure in mainstream Hindi cinema.
