Trivia
- The film was originally titled 'Mandi' but was renamed 'Market' to avoid confusion with Shyam Benegal's 1983 film of the same name.
- Actor Aryan Vaid, who plays Bablu Pande, was primarily known as a model and this was one of his earliest leading roles in Hindi cinema.
- The movie's depiction of Hyderabad's red-light area was shot on location to add a sense of gritty realism.
- Director Jai Prakash was better known for his work in Bhojpuri cinema, making this a rare Hindi-language directorial effort.
- The soundtrack featured the song 'Aaja Soniye', which was not a typical item number but integrated into the protagonist's story.
- Despite its dramatic plot, the film had a very limited theatrical release and is not widely remembered today.
- The role of Lalabee, the brothel owner, was played by veteran character actor Smita Jaykar, known for more traditional motherly roles on television.
