Amma(2002)
Amma (2002) is a Hindi drama film directed by Sunil Batta. The lead cast includes Ayesha Jhulka, Yashpal Sharma, and Surendra Pal. The story follows Roopa, a woman abandoned by her husband, who turns to prostitution to support her daughter and sick mother-in-law. The film is set in a small Indian town and explores themes of poverty, shame, and maternal sacrifice. It received a ₹10 lakh subsidy from the Uttar Pradesh government and was declared tax-free in the state. Despite this, the film was a commercial disaster, earning only ₹9.5 lakh gross against a ₹30 lakh budget. It was released on 31 January 2003.

Storyline
