Anita and Me(2002)
Anita and Me is a 2002 British comedy-drama film directed by Metin Hüseyin. The cast includes Chandeep Uppal, Kabir Bedi, and Anna Brewster. The story follows twelve-year-old Meena, the daughter of Indian immigrants living in a 1970s English mining village. She struggles to balance her family's traditional Punjabi culture with her desire to fit in with local children. The film is based on Meera Syal's semi-autobiographical novel of the same name. It received positive reviews for its honest portrayal of cultural identity and adolescence. The movie was released in the United Kingdom on 15 November 2002.

Storyline
Twelve-year-old Meena lives in a small English mining village with her Indian parents. She desperately wants to be friends with the popular girl Anita. To impress her, Meena lies about her family and hides her culture. But her lies begin to hurt the people she loves most. Meena must choose between fitting in and being true to herself.
