Shakti - The Power(2002)
Shakti: The Power is a 2002 Indian Hindi-language action film co-written and directed by Krishna Vamsi. The film stars Karisma Kapoor, Nana Patekar, and Sanjay Kapoor in lead roles, with Shah Rukh Khan, Deepti Naval, and Ritu Shivpuri in supporting roles. The story follows Nandini, a Canadian woman who visits her husband's ancestral home in rural India and becomes trapped in a violent family feud between her father-in-law and his half-brothers. The film is a remake of the 1998 Telugu film Anthahpuram and is based on the real-life story of Betty Mahmoody. It is considered one of Karisma Kapoor's career-best performances, with her and Nana Patekar's performances receiving critical acclaim. The film received two Filmfare nominations for Best Actress and Best Villain. It was released on 20 September 2002 and grossed ₹20.36 crore worldwide against a ₹10 crore budget.

Storyline
A Canadian woman named Nandini travels to rural India with her husband and young son. She discovers that her husband's family is locked in a bloody feud with his uncles. When her husband is killed, she must fight to save her son from being raised as a warrior. She escapes with the help of a small-time thief who sacrifices his life for her freedom.
