Abhay(2001)
Abhay is a 2001 Hindi psychological thriller film directed by Suresh Krishna. It stars Kamal Haasan in a dual role as Major Vijay Kumar and his mentally ill brother Abhay, alongside Raveena Tandon and Kitu Gidwani. The story follows a decorated NSG commando whose disturbed brother escapes from a mental asylum after 22 years, forcing him to confront a repressed childhood memory involving their mother's murder. The film explores themes of guilt, trauma, and brotherhood. It is a remake of the 1998 Tamil film Ullathai Allitha. The music was composed by Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy with lyrics by Javed Akhtar. Abhay was released on 16 November 2001 and had a runtime of 141 minutes.

Storyline
Major Vijay Kumar is about to marry his girlfriend Tejaswani. But his past comes crashing back when his brother Abhay escapes from a mental asylum. Abhay killed their mother 22 years ago. Now he wants Vijay to remember the truth about that night. Vijay must protect his family while facing a dark secret he has buried for decades.
