Trivia
- The film's title 'Jodi No. 1' was also the name of a popular 1999 Govinda film, making this a rare title reuse for the actor.
- This was one of the last major films for actor Prem Chopra, who played Rai Bahadur, after a decades-long career as a famous villain.
- A key comedy scene where the heroes disguise themselves as women parodies the iconic song 'Choli Ke Peeche' from the 1993 film 'Khalnayak'.
- The movie underperformed at the box office, ending a successful streak of Govinda and David Dhawan comedies in the 1990s.
- Actress Aarti Chhabria, who played one of the daughters, was primarily a model and this was one of her earliest film roles.
- The plot loosely borrows from the 1968 Hollywood film 'The Secret Life of an American Wife', but is set in a typical Hindi comedy style.
- Music director Anand Raj Anand reused and rearranged his own composition 'Tumse Milke' from the 1999 film 'Sirf Tum' for this film's soundtrack.
