Trivia
- The film was originally titled 'Karobaar: The Business of Love' but was shortened to just 'Karobaar' for release.
- This was one of the few films where Rakesh Roshan directed but did not act in or produce; he only directed.
- The movie's plot is loosely inspired by the Hollywood film 'Jagged Edge', which also features a lawyer defending a client accused of murder.
- Despite starring big names like Rishi Kapoor and Juhi Chawla, the film was a major commercial failure at the box office.
- The soundtrack, composed by Rajesh Roshan, includes a song 'Dil Ne Kaha' that became more popular than the film itself.
- A subplot involving the female lead's guardian being a former courtesan was considered bold for mainstream Hindi cinema at the time.
- The courtroom scenes were shot in a real Mumbai courtroom to add authenticity to the legal drama portions.
