Full Plot

Saravanan lives in Chennai with his dysfunctional family. His father Varadharajan is a college professor who stopped speaking to his wife Shenbagam the day after their wedding because she was uneducated. Shenbagam is now studying to earn a degree and win back his love. Saravanan works at a movie theatre with his best friend Parthasarathy, also known as Partha.

One day, Saravanan spots Meera, a trainee air hostess, in traffic and falls in love instantly. He starts pursuing her despite warnings from her father, DCP Mahendrakumar. Meera challenges Saravanan to change himself if he wants her love. She asks him to shave, dress well, drop Partha, and be punctual. Saravanan agrees and starts ignoring Partha, straining their friendship.

Saravanan eventually helps Partha reunite with his lost love. The two friends follow Meera to Mumbai, where she finally admits she loves Saravanan. Meanwhile, Saravanan confronts his father and convinces him to reconcile with his mother. Everything seems perfect.

But then disaster strikes. Saravanan jokingly calls his relationship with Meera a 'project' during a phone call. Meera overhears and misunderstands. She thinks he never truly loved her. Heartbroken, she ends the relationship without giving him a chance to explain.

In the present, Saravanan and Partha drive to Puducherry to stop Meera's wedding. They arrive drunk and tell everyone their story. Meera sympathizes, but her father refuses to let her go because the wedding is already paid for. Just as they are about to leave, a local gangster named Rajini Murugan arrives with a pregnant girl. He reveals that the groom Ashwin had abandoned this girl. Ashwin confesses, and the wedding is called off. Murugan promises to cover the losses. Meera runs back to Saravanan, and they reunite.
