- The movie's music was composed by Anand-Milind, known for their work in many 90s films, but the soundtrack did not become a major commercial hit.

- Director Aruna Raje is known for focusing on women-centric stories, and this was her only directorial collaboration with Juhi Chawla.
- The film was shot extensively in Pune and other parts of Maharashtra, retaining the setting of the original Marathi version.
- Despite its dramatic premise, the movie did not perform well at the box office and is rarely discussed in retrospectives of 90s cinema.
